"No Blood" and Wikipedia
by Doug Mason inthe "no blood" people sought comments on a piece it was preparing for wikipedia on the reasons jws do not accept blood.
i wrote to them saying that they should indicate in their article that the wts is not a "no blood" organization and that they should also indicate the impact of the threat of "shunning"has on a jw patient's decision.
i also provided them with a copy of my latest work on blood ("loyalty test", available at http://au.geocities.com/doug_mason1940/blood/html ).

Typology
by Doug Mason inhas anyone prepared an analysis of the wts/gb's typology?
do the wts/gb have rules for applying types and antitypes, or do they apply them to verify a predetermined conclusion?

Jack Finegan on the date of Jerusalem's Destruction
by Doug Mason ini am not fussed whether jerusalem was destroyed in 587 bce or a year later in 586 bce.
some are interested and as promised i have scanned some pages from a book by jack finegan which some might find interesting and useful.
but please do not raise issues with me -- i am the messenger, not the creator of the message.

When DID the Jews return?
by Doug Mason inthe date of the jews return to jerusalem following their captivity in babylon, is absolutely crucial to the gb.
importance of the date .
this date (537 for the return of the jews to their homeland) plays a very important role for all bible students (jws), for by it we can fix the time of the beginning of the desolation of the land of judah and the beginning of the times of the gentiles, or, the appointed times of the nations.

Is the GB "Christ"?
by Doug Mason inwhere in scripture does the gb get the idea of being anointed?
jesus warned his disciples to watch out for the deceivers (matt 24: 4) who would falsely point to wars, famines, and earthquakes (verses 6 and 7) as the sign of the end of the age (verse 3).
at the same time, jesus told his disciples that these deceivers would claim to be christ (verse 5), which means anointed one.

Who stretched the pyramid? When? Why?
by Doug Mason inthe site http://www.reexamine.org/quotes/1874.htm lists the quotations related to the dimensions of the great pyramid.
the first quotation comes from the 1904 edition of millennial dawn, vol 3, p.342.
part of the quotation says: "the close of 1874 was the chronological beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation".

Rutherford and 1914 "coming"
by Doug Mason ini have seen the 1929 book where rutherford stated that christ's parousia took place in 1874. .
in the course of my research, i have seen people claiming that during the 1920s, rutherford dated the "coming" of christ at 1914. .
i do not want to repeat hearsay, and would like to hear from people who have the original documents or verifiable photocopies.

Is the "Kingdom" a "government"?
by Doug Mason inmy understanding is that the wts says the "kingdom of god/heavens" is a "government".
where do they get that idea from in scripture?
i presume that by "government" they mean "a system of exercising authority through an executive policy making body".
